Homenetmen: Sports, Scouting, and Community—Open to Everyone

Building confident, community-minded youth through teamwork, leadership, and service.

Who We Are

Homenetmen (Armenian General Athletic Union & Scouts) is a global youth organization founded in 1918. We develop character, leadership, and lifelong friendships through sports and scouting—while celebrating Armenian culture.

Not exclusively Armenian. Our programs are open to all youth and families, regardless of background, ethnicity, language, or faith. If you value teamwork, sportsmanship, and community, you belong here.

Our Mission

  • Grow character: discipline, responsibility, leadership

  • Play with purpose: teamwork, fundamentals, healthy competition

  • Serve the community: volunteerism, respect, and civic spirit

  • Welcome everyone: inclusion and access are core to who we are

A Brief History

Founded in 1918, Homenetmen has served hundreds of thousands of youth across scouting troops, sports teams, and community programs worldwide. In Los Angeles, our chapters and programs have supported generations of student-athletes and scouts with a simple idea: stronger youth make stronger communities.

What We Do in NoHo

: NoHo Basketball offers free, inclusive practices and games for ages 6–18—usually at Grant High School in North Hollywood. We focus on fundamentals, confidence, and a positive team culture in a safe, supervised environment. Everyone is welcome—no prior experience or membership fees.
